A bunch of New South Wales Councils have called on the government north of the Murray to better the supply of essential worker housing.
The peak lobby group for New South Wales Councils including Wentworth and Balranald Shire Councils has told a State Parliamentary inquiry that housing shortages were having an impact on retaining workers in regional areas.
More than one-third of all submissions to the inquiry came from local government.
