A man is back behind bars after returning to Mildura and allegedly assaulting his partner again, in breach of his bail conditions.
Police have told the court this week that the man had been in consistent contact with the woman since being released on bail in early January, even spending time at her Mildura home, before allegedly strangling her.
Police opposed an application for further bail.

The man is expected to front court again next week.
If found guilty he faces time in prison.
