Local tradies and other workers across Sunraysia and the Mallee are being urged to check they’re being paid their full superannuation entitlements.

It comes as nearly $200 million in unpaid super was recovered for 180,000 Australians over the past financial year by construction industry fund, Cbus Super.

The staggering figures have reinforced the need for new payday super laws which are set to come into effect in the middle of next year.

Acting Chief Member Officer at Cbus, Bernie Dean, says “Nearly all employers do the right thing, but there is a small number that deliberately underpay their workers and gain an unfair business advantage by not paying the correct amount of super.”

Cbus collected $193.1 million in unpaid super during FY25. Over the past five years, the fund has recovered nearly $700 million for members.
