New research is providing a timely reminder for local drivers to keep their eyes firmly fixed on the road.
The survey by car insurer AAMI found more than 1 in 3 drivers across the country (38%) have been involved in a collision or near-miss due to distracted driving.
The most common distractions include mobile phones (25%), car radios and GPS (60%), consuming food and drink (65%), or peering at broken down vehicles and collisions (40%).
