A man has been refused bail after he was charged with assault of a woman last week.
The man is alleged to have assaulted the woman while after drinking, including punching the woman in the face, slamming her head into the floor and stomping on her, according to the Herald Sun.
He has also been reported to have attacked the woman with a vacuum cleaner and threatened to inject the woman with an unknown substance in a syringe, with an eight year old child allegedly present at stages of the attack.

He was remanded in custody after the magistrate refused bail.
